logo facts
- ivory.png has been deemed good enough for now and thus graces every page.
- it is now saved as a PNG-8 rather than a PNG-24, since IE doesn't handle PNG-24 very well right now.
- it is undithered and 128 bit colour depth for a cool 10kb+ savings (ivory.png is currently ~3.6kb).
- There is a 'matching' favicon.ico that should work for bookmarks. The .ico contains the following formats 16x16x256, 32x32x256, 32x32x2^16, 48x48x2^16.
logo ideas
A first logo idea was put online.
first idea:
pros:
- good colour and feel
- I like the way that it feels clean, yet dirty
cons:
- the text isn't super
- it is 25 pixels higher than the default
second idea:
pros:
- eliminates the redundant text
- has more of a presence than the other one
cons:
- ?? I am sure that there are some...
nth idea:
pros:
- counter-intuitive, yet still an orange.
- it's a complementary colour
cons:
- err... uhh..
n+1st idea:
This is a png with the interior semi-transparent! It looks different (but still nice) when on orange.
n^mth idea:
A real orange re-colourized
yet another thought:
- Blue sucks.
- We are already using the orange and ivory together... so why not make the icon... an ivory orange?
