Mailing List:
- We host a mailing list for Asterisk and VoIP enthusiasts in Ontario. Send an email to "asterisk-subscribe at uc dot org" if you would like to join.
- The general topics are getting a home PBX hooked up with your regular phone line, small business PBX's, sourcing hardware, getting VoIP from various providers in Ontario, as well as CRTC regulatory issues and end user license agreements one deals with if you want to expand your services.
- If you are a commercial supplier, please contact "asterisk-owner at uc dot org" for approval before sending messages of a commercial nature.
IRC Channel:
- We run a small irc channel where we discuss VoIP (irc.byxnet.net, #voip).
- If you don't have an IRC client, you can connect via the web at http://irc.uc.org (java applet)
Projects:
- Zasterisk
- Simon has implemented a Rezrov ZIO object that allows Asterisk to talk to a Zmachine interpeter. The goal of this project is to provide an entertaining platform for IVR, Text-to-speech, and speech-to-text development.
- Asterisk and Lucent iMerge (95% complete)
- Simon is attempting to configure Asterisk[1] to create an H.323 session with a Lucent iMerge[2] gateway on Sprint Canada's network. The end goal being able to terminate VoIP calls on the Asterisk via the iMerge, which is in turn connected to the PSTN.
- TAUG Non-Profit
- Working on creating an AUG non-profit organization
